Tom Boin is the Principal Governance Analyst in the Office of Corporate Governance at Exelon Corporation, where he has worked since its inception in 2000. Instrumental in building many of the company’s routine corporate governance processes, he has also been responsible for various aspects of the annual shareholders meeting, Section 16 reporting, insider trading compliance and equity plan administration.
Since 2007 he has managed Exelon’s shareholder services function where he is responsible for all aspects of the transfer agent relationship and the employee stock purchase plan including dividend distribution, proxy distribution, shareholder communication and education.
Tom also manages the vendor relationships in connection with shareholder services and has twice overseen the migration of Exelon’s approximate 125,000 registered accounts to new agents while maintaining the availability of up to 30 years of historical account information. He has also consolidated all employee stock plan and executive incentive plan accounts with a leading brokerage firm where for the first time employees have access to all of their company equity through one source.
Tom has served on the BNY Mellon and Keane client advisory boards. He is a member of SSA and the Midwest Stock Transfer Association. He started work with Exelon's Chicago-based subsidiary, Commonwealth Edison Company, as a design engineer and has experience working in a coal-fired power plant and with hydroelectric dams.
Tom has an MBA from Northwestern University, an MS in Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois, and a BS in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University. He lives in Chicago, Illinois with his wife and four children.
