Board Committees

Each committee consists of at least two members and is chaired by an SSA Director. We are always looking for members to help out on the committees.  Any SSA member who would like to serve on a committee should contact the respective committee chair.

Finance Committee - Chair: Anthony Battista
Provide independent oversight of the accounting and financial practices of the Association, advise the board of needed changes in these practices and provide general oversight regarding the accumulation and expenditure of Association funds.

Communications Committee - Chair: Keith Ecke
Provide oversight of all Association communications to members. Responsible for the maintenance and content of the web site.

Conference Committee - Chair: Karen Danielson
Plan and produce the Annual Conference. Recommend conference sites, determine the theme and arrange for speakers, facilities, meal services, activities, sponsorships and conference materials. Please feel free to contact our Conference Committee chair with suggestions for speakers, topics or events.

Education Committee - Chair: Karen Danielson
Propose and enact a board-approved education program for members and interested shareholder services professionals.  Please help the Education Committee chair identify potential eLearning topics for development.

Executive Committee The Executive Committee is comprised of the Officers of the Association. The Executive Committee shall act in place of the Board between regularly scheduled Board meetings. 

Legal & Legislative Committee - Chair: Katie Sevcik
Review the objectives, policies, plans, issues and progress of regulatory agencies and activities, as well as other governmental and public activities, as they affect the Association and its constituencies. If you hear about something on the regulatory front, let our Legal & Legislative Committee know.

Membership Committee - Chair: Jane Keister
Responsible for all aspects associated with SSA membership (i.e., new member application and approval process, new member website acess, and annual membership renewal process).  Assist with plans to solicit and attract new members to the Association. Please help the Membership Committee chair identify potential members.

Nominating Committee - Chair: Karl Wagner
Responsible for proposing to the board qualified candidates for election as directors and officers of the Association. If you are interested in serving or know of someone who is dedicated to the shareholder services industry that you would like to nominate, please contact the Nominating Committee chair.

Program Committee - James Alden, Patrick Burke and Karl Wagner 

Identify topics of interest to Association members, secure speakers and arrange for facilities for luncheon and special SSA meetings. Please contact any of our Program Committee members with suggestions for speakers or topics.
