Tony Fireman
Anthony F. Fireman - Tony to all who worked with him - spent 37 years at United States Steel Corporation/USX and was manager of shareholder services at the time of his retirement in June, 2000. He was a long-time member of the association and joined the board in 1987. He was president from 1993 through 1995 and served as a consultant to the board from the time of his retirement until his death in October, 2006. He was known for his personal character and integrity, his commitment to the industry and this organization, and for his quiet, unassuming leadership.
The Tony Fireman Achievement Award, the highest honor a shareholder services professional can receive, is named in his honor.
Tony embodied these characteristics which are inscribed on the award: Character, Integrity, Commitment, Leadership.
