My Role with Computershare
During my 15 year tenure with Computershare, I have been able to manage a majority of the operational processing areas of our company including client and shareholder processing, corporate actions, and lost securities. My responsibilities overseeing these departments also allowed me to participate in industry meetings on operational issues.
In my current role as a Senior Industry and Business Ops Analyst, Computershare has provided me the opportunity to expand my involvement and act as it’s liaison on topics that impact transfer agents. I am currently involved in a number of organization including the SSA, STA, and SIFMA along with participating on several industry committees.
Why I am a member of the SSA
Although I have worked with individuals who are members of the SSA for many years, I consider my participation in the 2009 conference in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho as my first introduction to the SSA. Since that time, I have come to recognize that this organization provides the expected information sharing, networking and educational opportunities. However, what I have truly come to enjoy is the welcoming, family-like atmosphere of the SSA and the friendships that have grown out of that.
A little bit about me
I grew up in Newport, RI but have also spent time in New York and California as my father served 23 years in the Navy. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island before moving to Boston to find my first job. My wife Ellen and I currently live just outside of Boston with our four children ranging in age from 15 to 23. Over the years, I have been kept busy attending soccer and hockey games, swimming meets, and Irish step dancing competitions along with myself still trying to play an occasional rugby game. Now that our children have become a little older, Ellen and I have also started to enjoy impromptu long weekends leaving them wondering where mom and dad have gone now.
