Unclaimed Property Recovery & Reporting, LLC
My role at UPRR
In my role as President of UPRR I focus on helping corporations and transfer agents develop solutions for all aspects of unclaimed property management. We have recently created additional services addressing applicable property types for newly regulated industries such as insurance, oil and gas, and brokerage firms. I oversee new product development, the sales and marketing efforts to those industries, as well as client services.
Why am I an SSA member?
SSA membership allows us to showcase our products and business strategies to industry leaders. The Association provides a forum to discuss complex unclaimed property compliance issues as well as best practices for due diligence. UPRR’s services were developed to achieve superior owner location results through a methodology that promotes full disclosure to owners. Our approach to shareholders, in conjunction with full service unclaimed property reporting capabilities, uniquely positions us to mitigate risk for SSA members by reducing the number of accounts and assets reportable to the States and ensuring compliance with all jurisdictions for all property types.
What I enjoy most about being an SSA member
The SSA is a cornerstone industry group dedicated to providing outstanding services to shareholders. We have always found the SSA to encourage the exchange of information and to explore new concepts and approaches. Additionally, the Quarterly and Annual meetings are a great way to catch up with friends, clients, former colleagues, and meet new members. As a long term Platinum Sponsor we also enjoy creating our annual video.
A little bit about me
In August of 1983 I began my foray into the area of Unclaimed Property working with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Treasury’s Division of Abandoned Property as Director of Securities Management. Following my experience at the Commonwealth I assisted in creating The Unclaimed Property Clearinghouse and the National Abandoned Property Processing Company, the two original State sponsored Clearinghouses for the reporting of unclaimed property. From there I helped to conceive and implement First Chicago Trust Company’s Unclaimed Property Program along with my current partners Bob Walsh and Pete Miller, which was offered to all of the Trust Company’s clients and became the model for what ultimately became UPRR as it exists today. I am a graduate of Providence College, BA and of Northeastern University MA Management. I enjoy golf, skiing, watching sports, and time with family and friends.
